Maasai Mara Game Reserve (the Mara) is among Africa’s leading wildlife safari destinations. Maasai Mara is home to the world-famous annual wildebeest and zebra migration, a breathtaking event that you can easily witness when you visit the park. The animals move from the Serengeti in Tanzania from June to August, and make the reverse journey in October. Lions, rhinos, elephants, leopards and buffalo also make frequent appearances for visitors on a wildlife safari to the Mara. The Mara is also renowned as an excellent bird watching location as it provides a natural habitat for spectacular birds such as ostriches, vultures, secretary birds, cranes and marabou storks.
